South Burnett UTV Dealer

Based in Kingaroy with delivery to the entire South Burnett region, Ollies Mower Service are Landboss and CF moto UTV dealers. We’ve been Kingaroy’s #1 choice for garden and small engine farm products for over 40 years and have our own in-house team of small engine mechanics to take care of scheduled servicing and repairs of all the products we sell. Our range of UTVs is extensive and our team will work with you to identify the right product for your needs.

Please give us a call on (07) 4162 4533 to talk to Kingaroy’s trusted UTV dealer or come see our range in person at our Kingaroy showroom.

Why Choose a UTV?

Utility Terrain Vehicles, or UTVs, are a fantastic alternative to bush-bashers when looking for an easy-to-operate mode of transport to get around your property. They’re great fun, can carry around multiple passengers and are handy for collecting materials and completing small jobs around your property. Brands we stock include CF moto and Landboss, with both Petrol and Diesel models available. We can provide delivery to the entire South Burnett region, with free delivery within Kingaroy. Speak to us about our financing options available with select models!

More and more people on properties are moving towards UTVs, be they experienced ATV owners or first time quad owners. This is due to the increased safety from the UTVs encouraging more families to purchase them as well as the enhanced versatility and easy steering making it a fantastic choice.

Please don’t hesitate to give us a call on (07) 4162 4533 to discuss our range of UTVs and ATVs or visit our showroom for tailored advice and product demonstrations from our friendly staff.

UTV vs ATV

We’re often asked whether to get a UTV or an ATV (all-terrain vehicle). In light of the recent spike of ATV / Quadbike rollovers and critical injuries, especially among inexperienced farm hands and kids, the market has gradually shifted to UTVs. UTVs (also known as side-by-sides) are similar to ATVs but they have a built-in roll cage and occupants sit secured to a chair via a seatbelt. They also have the advantage of often having more storage and passenger space. This does, however, come at a slight price premium compared to ATVs.

For first-time quad buyers or buyers with smaller children, we highly recommend getting a UTV. They offer:

  • Great versatility
  • Greater safety over an ATV
  • Same great off-road capabilities
  • Steering wheel instead of handlebar makes steering effortless

Despite being safer, UTVs are still heavy machinery that require precise operation in order to be safely and properly used. When you come in to see some of the different UTV and ATV models we have on offer, we’d be happy to show you how to properly operate the equipment.

See Our UTV range

In addition to our great range of ATV models, we also carry a range of UTVs (utility-terrain-vehicles) available as well. UTVs are a relatively recent addition to the market, but they’re certainly a welcome addition.

Advantages of a UTV include:

  • Greater safety with the addition of a rollcage and seatbelts
  • Same great off-roading capabilities
  • Easier steering via a steering wheel rather than handles
  • Better passenger and cargo storage

Although UTVs do come at a slight price premium, we’ve found more and more locals have adopted them, whether buying their first farm terrain vehicle or replacing their old trusty model. We’ve sold them to families looking for safer options, older customers looking for more comfortable steering and to hunters and farmers looking for more space to put their equipment when they’re riding around.

ATVs are probably the best vehicle to use for mustering cattle, as they’re incredibly manoeuvrable due to their short wheelbase. This does, however, come at the expense of less cargo and passenger holding capabilities compared to UTVs.

Husqvarna Chainsaws

As an independent retailer, we’ve chosen Husqvarna as our chainsaw supplier because we’ve seen just how durable and effective they are in the field, and after over 40 years of industry experience, we’ve seen how consistently they impress our customers. We’ve got an in-house servicing and maintenance team, and as authorised repair agents, we’ve got the knowledge and a steady supply of spare parts to perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on all the models that we sell.

Petrol and Battery Models

We’ve got a range of petrol and battery-powered chainsaw models from Husqvarna. It’s important to consider the differences between petrol and battery-powered chainsaws to see if they’re right for you.

Advantages of battery operation include:

  • Quiet operation
  • Easy start operation
  • Smaller, more manageable size
  • More energy efficient

More and more people are adopting battery chainsaws because of their convenient, quiet use, but are the advantages worth the extra cost? We’ve found that battery models are a fantastic choice for everyday backyard use. Whether you’re gathering firewood or trimming some small branches, battery models are perfect. But because they aren’t quite as powerful as petrol chainsaws, heavy users, like commercial maintenance companies, gardeners and arborists, are more suited to the petrol models.

Still having trouble deciding? Swing by our showroom to speak to one of our staff and get tailored advice to suit your needs and budget. We provide tailored advice to suit the individual, and we’re happy to offer you in-person product demonstrations. Financing options are available for most products we stock, and all chainsaws come filled with fuel and oil plus a demonstration on how to safely use and care for your new chainsaw.

Kingaroy Hedge Trimmer Sales

Ollies Mower Service are reputable Kingaroy hedge trimmer sales and repair specialists, with over 40 years of experience in providing the South Burnett region with high quality, reliable small engine products and servicing. Our friendly sales team work closely with you to find the right product to suit your needs. Whether this is your first hedge trimmer or it’s a replacement of your entire fleet, we’ve got a hedge trimmer to suit your needs.

Give us a call on (07) 4162 4533 or come into our showroom for tailored advice from our team of friendly sales staff.

Tailored to Your Needs

Is this your first time buying a hedge trimmer, or is there something that you dislike about your current hedge trimmer? Our sales specialists will have a detailed chat with you about how you use your hedge trimmer to find the best model within your budget. If you’re only cutting thin branched varieties around the home, for example, we advise not getting the most powerful tool for the job. As an independent retailer, we only stock brands that have proven themselves as reliable in the field. Brands we currently stock include Honda and Husqvarna.

Part of this tailored advice includes product demonstrations on how to use and fuel it to ensure you’re getting the most out of your new product. When your product is delivered, we’ll show you how to properly care for your product and provide you with scheduled servicing reminders if you’d like to get your hedge trimmer serviced through our in-house small engine mechanic team.

Battery vs Petrol Hedge Trimmers

There’s been a recent surge in the use of battery-powered hedge trimmers, but are they right for you? We offer both petrol and battery-powered hedge-trimming models.

Advantages of electric hedge trimmers include:

  • Quieter operation
  • Easier to operate / start
  • More energy efficient
  • Typically lighter as a result of smaller blade

It is important to weigh these features up with the additional cost and less power that battery hedge trimmers have compared to standard petrol models. We’ve found that the battery-powered trimmers are often more suitable for around the home usage but may fall short on large garden maintenance jobs.

If you’re unsure, don’t hesitate to give us a call on (07) 4162 4533 or swing by our showroom.

We’ve got standard blowers and blower-vacuums available as well for easy disposal of any debris you pick up; they’re also great for collecting materials for mulching if you’d like to put all that green mess to good use. To discuss our range of brush cutters and whipper snippers, please give us a call on (07) 4162 4533 or come visit our showroom.

Why Choose Ollies:

We differ from competitors by providing:

  • Financing options with interest-free finance on select models
  • Ready-to-go product delivery, filled up with oil and fuel
  • Product demonstrations on how to use and care for your new brush cutter
  • In-house scheduled servicing and repairs from our in-house small engine mechanics

We stock Honda and Husqvarna’s range of 2-stroke, 4-stroke and electric brush cutters. Honda and Husqvarna are proven leaders in the brush cutter market and we’ve got models to suit residential, rural and commercial applications at different budgets. Please come into our showroom and see our range for yourself. Is this your first brush cutter? Have our friendly staff team give you a product demonstration.

2-Stroke, 4-Stroke or Battery?

Often people will choose a 2-stroke brush cutter because they’re lighter and cheaper, making them fantastic for domestic usage and for anyone with a bad back. What 4-stroke customers prefer, however, is the fact that oil and fuel are in separate compartments, so you don’t need to pre-mix like you would with a 2-stroke. You’ll also find that 4-strokes tend to be quieter and typically more durable, at the expense of costing slightly more than a 2-stroke.

Increasingly, more and more domestic customers are turning to battery-powered brush cutters. This is because they are much quieter than petrol-powered models, don’t require constant filling up, and are better for the environment. The downside of battery models is that they are slightly more expensive, are a bit heavier, and require charging before each time you use it. This makes battery-powered brush cutters more suitable for residential usage.

Zero-Turn vs Ride-On Mowers

We often get asked whether a ride-on or zero-turn mower would be more suitable to your needs on the farm or in the backyard.

The benefits of choosing a zero-turn mower include:

  • Faster across the ground
  • More manoeuvrable
  • Less thirsty for fuel as a result of the quicker work

The disadvantage, however, is that they can’t take a slope quite like a ride-on mower can. As ride-on mowers are fitted with solid axles and more sturdy, single differential drivers, they can take on a larger slope safely without fear of losing traction on one wheel. Zero-turns can certainly take on slopes, but nothing too large. A commercial range of Zero Turns with larger decks is worth investigating.

If  you’ve got a large, relatively flat area, zero-turn mowers would suit you perfectly. We’ve found customers that have larger yards and paddocks full of trees absolutely love their zero-turns because they can finish jobs in around half the time, making small work of trees and other obstacles. There is certainly a learning curve to zero-turn mowers, but once you’ve got a hold of it, they’re so much fun and the time you save is worth it.

Please give us a call on (07) 4162 4533 or visit our showroom if you’re unsure whether a zero-turn or ride-on mower would be suited to your needs.

Please give us a call on (07) 4162 4533 to discuss our push mowers or speak to one of our friendly staff in person at our showroom and see what we have in stock.

2-Stroke vs 4-Stroke

2-stroke engines require pre-mixing the oil and fuel, whilst 4-stroke engines have different compartments for oil and fuel. This does make refuelling and re-oiling easier, but 4-strokes are usually slightly more expensive than a 2-stroke.

Here’s a list of the advantages each mower has:

2-Stroke 4-Stroke
Typically less expensive Typically more durable
Lighter Easier to fuel, oil and start
Works more effectively on large inclines Quieter

Either will do your mowing jobs well, and we’d be happy to make a recommendation based on your needs, budget and yard environment. If this is your first time owning a lawnmower, have us show you a product demonstration on how to use and care for your mower. Please come and visit our showroom for tailored advice from our team.

Why Choose a Ride-On?

It’s not uncommon for our customers to come over and ask whether a ride-on or zero-turn mower would suit their yard best. What we’ve found is that customers with a smaller yard or a yard with lots of tall slopes are suited to ride-on lawn mowers. Ride-on mowers are typically cheaper than zero-turn mowers of similar power and because of their differential and solid axle, they can take on taller slopes without fear of losing traction.

Where zero-turn mowers excel, however, is when you have a large, relatively flat paddock filled with obstacles like trees that would make using a ride-on a slow process. The manoeuvrability of a zero-turn mower allows for faster mowing, but this is a moot point if your back yard is less than a quarter of an acre. Come and visit us in our showroom for tailored advice on what lawn mower would be best for you, with product demonstrations from our expert team.
